When this happens, open a command prompt from the installation screen at the beginning (shift F10) and then type the following commands diskpart list disk select disk 0 (if it is the correct disk number) clean (this will delete what is on disk – Windows often won’t proceed without the CLEAN command – saying it can’t convert when you use that command – which by the way it doesn’t tell you to use) convert MBR (or convert GPT) this is the last command to convert for anything type of Windows partition format is required for the particular installation you are doing. EXIT If the CLEAN command is inappropriate for you (such as when you want to save some data on the hard disk, use a program such as EASUS – it can be additionally downloaded from torrent sites) to convert the partition type and others before to install this copy of Windows.
